Aspi started racing motorcycles in 1977. He then designed and made a dye to create a cylinder block from aluminium for an Enfield 200 motorcycle (as the original one was made of cast iron and the port sizes were miniscule and restricted the engine performance). The power output went up from 8 bhp to more than 25 bhp! Aspi is also the only Indian to have received a bronze medal in the Isle Of Mann TT race. He has raced motorcycles in Australia, Malaysia and UK. In 2000 he became the road test editor at Overdrive Magazine, then started Car India and Bike India in 2005. He has been the editor of Car and Bike India since 2007.

In 2016 his company launched the IndiKarting National Series, to promote grass root motorsport. The series is already Indias largest karting series.
